Sorry if my holiday blogs are a little annoying. This one has to be a quickie because as usual I'm on a stupid time limit.
Today was a great day. Apart from the occasional whinge contributed by Ellie, it was overall really great. We drove a way up the west coast, stopping occasionally. One of the nicest places we stopped was at Punakaiki. There's this cute little walk that you can do there which was made for the purpose of letting tourists look at the pancake rocks and the blow-holes without destroying the environment, which we are so terribly prone to doing. The general idea of the blow-holes is that over time (about 35 million years or something) wind, sea, and rain eroded the limestone on the cliffs and created little caves. The pancake rocks are like pancake stacks; just layers of rock, one on top of the other. It was a pretty cool effect, seeing the tide wash in under the caves and spray all over the place. Mum got some awesome photos :P
We also saw a seal colony. It was so cute! There were a whole heap of little seal babies playing and fighting with each other, and climbing all over the place. I got one to look at me so Mum could take a photo, which turned out really good.
Didn't buy anything much today. I didn't really want to after my necklace splurge in Golden bay yesterday :D
So anyway. 20 seconds left, better split.
Byebyes :D xx

Westport: Day 5
Today was much better :)
Place of the day: Golden Bay
Shop of the day: Monza (in Golden Bay); a shop full of original artwork (all of it extremely expensive, of course- my favourite was a collection of strange little animal sculptures made of wood and shells, for a whopping $128 each).
Buy of the Day: A $70 necklace. You guys'll see it when I get back :)
Food of the Day: Freakin' DELICIOUS breakfast at the "Dangerous Cafe"- smoked salmon, toast, avovado and poached egg. Mmmmm.

Motueka: Day 4
I can't believe I have to put up with this for a whole week more.
I mean, the holiday is great, it's just the people... I seriously can't handle this for much longer. I've almost broken down.
We went to the WOW museum today. It was pretty damn fantastic. The dresses were so creative and imaginative, and I wish so much I could create things like them. One of my favourites was a dress that resembled the bottom of the ocean. It seriously looked like a reef.
After the museum we had lunch at this random little cafe, then went into the city centre for some shopping. This is where it got annoying. Ellie and Tori are so selfish; they don't seem to appreciate that Mum organized and is paying for this whole thing, and instead of thinking about someone other than themselves for once, they both wanted to do things only they were interested in, rather than going to the shops that interested Mum. Ellie wanted Whitcoulls, Tori wanted Jay-jays, and Mum just wanted to look at some antiques and vintage things and jewelery, which I was all too happy to go along with.
I gotta go, my twenty minutes is almost up.
Bye :(

Motueka: Day 3
It hasn't been such a good day. Mum is still sick and it's making her kind of cranky. We spent 4 hours driving in a very bumpy camper van, and I only just got a shower after almost two days, which is gross. I miss home.
Sometimes- no, that's a lie- almost all the time I wish it were you lot I was traveling with, because I really, really, just do not get along with my sisters most of time, and Ellie whinges and Tori's a bitch and they leave their dirty clothes everywhere. The camper van is not their rooms, it's our house for the next 8 days.
Nevermind. We're going into Nelson tomorrow, for some shopping and to visit the WOW museum. Hopefully I'll find some cool shit, and hopefully Mum's headache will be gone and she wont be tutting at me every five seconds.
So yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say.
Ta ta :) xxx

Hanmer Springs: Day 2
Today has been a little bit crazy and a little bit awesome.
Gah, so much. We were up at 8, though it was basically seven cause of stupid daylight savings, and gone by around 10.30, after a breakfast of English muffins, to the Waiau River bungee jump. My sister Tori (15) jumped 35m off a bridge, which is insane cause I could never had done that. By 1.3opmish we were back at the campervan (a 7m, 3.1m high long Maui), but we didn't actually leave the Thrillseekers carpark until 4pm because Mum, being the only driver, developed an almost crippling migraine. It was so, so quiet for almost 3 hours. I just read. I started The Stand, by Stephen King, and read maybe 50 pages. It's a yucky yet brilliant book (of course).
Hanmer Springs is a really nice little town. Lots of tall trees and very nice looking lodges and resorts and shops. The hot springs there is a very popular place with tourists, so the town is usually pretty busy.
Haha, yesterday, as Tori and I were walking back to the campsite after our swim, we saw Mrs Clarke, who was my Economics teacher last year, with her husband, daughter and son Fraser, who was in my class. It was weird.
At the moment I'm in the little TV/internet room. I had to pay $4 to use the internet for 30 minutes, which is ridiculous. I have to go, actually. Only 5 minutes left and I still have to check my e-mail. Miss you guys :)

Hanmer Springs: Day 1
In the Hanmer Springs holiday park right now. Weather is beautiful, everyone mostly happy (though Mum just caught Ellie stealing $2 so she can go to the games room and buy lollies), campervan is wonderful (and huuuuge) and comfy and awesome.
Got up this morning at 5, left by 6. Plane boarded at 6.55 (which we almost missed because Mum misread the ticket...). The plane experience was very smooth; barely any turbulence, and a beautiful view out the windows of the clouds and sunset. It WAS smooth, at least, until we started our descent and becuase of my terrible, horrible, malicious sinuses I got these pains, which felt like a knife was been stabbed through my head, and actually had me gasping for breath. It was.... ugh. I said to Mum: "Jeez, that was worse than childbirth", which made her choke a little bit.
Right. Only 2 minutes lefts (we're on the campsite wi-fi, but we still had to pay $6 for our 60 minutes. Fucking ridiculous.
Speaking of moneys, today I bought a cute little penguin chick plushie, a key chain and a Hogglund postcard- the Hogglund was this Antarctic train/tank-like thing which this guy drove over this awesome course with all these hills and stuf (and it floats!). Mum got an awesome photo of Tori, Ellie, Irene and I standing next to it.
Right-o got to go. Love you guys!

A Seven Nation Army Couldn't Hold Me Back
Something is going on, and I have no idea what. Jess' latest blog scared me a bit, and I'm still not sure where I stand with all this minority crap. Our group is cracking, being wedged apart, splitting at the seams. I don't know who's on my side, if anyone at all, and it's making me a little jumpy and easily irritated and a lot confused.
I, being the "dictator" that I am (according to Alex), want to find out what's going on and then sort it out, but I'm off tomorrow morning (really early, at, like, 6am... D:) and I'll be doing shit like bungee jumping and going to the Antartic Centre and generally chillaxin', so I kinda can't.
I love you guys xx
See you soon :)
(Don't take that to mean that I wont be blogging, because OHOHOHOHO YES I WILL).
P.S. The titles lately have been from songs I was listening to on writing my blog :) Sometimes it has something to do with the content and sometimes it doesn't.
