Sorry if my holiday blogs are a little annoying. This one has to be a quickie because as usual I'm on a stupid time limit.
Today was a great day. Apart from the occasional whinge contributed by Ellie, it was overall really great. We drove a way up the west coast, stopping occasionally. One of the nicest places we stopped was at Punakaiki. There's this cute little walk that you can do there which was made for the purpose of letting tourists look at the pancake rocks and the blow-holes without destroying the environment, which we are so terribly prone to doing. The general idea of the blow-holes is that over time (about 35 million years or something) wind, sea, and rain eroded the limestone on the cliffs and created little caves. The pancake rocks are like pancake stacks; just layers of rock, one on top of the other. It was a pretty cool effect, seeing the tide wash in under the caves and spray all over the place. Mum got some awesome photos :P
We also saw a seal colony. It was so cute! There were a whole heap of little seal babies playing and fighting with each other, and climbing all over the place. I got one to look at me so Mum could take a photo, which turned out really good.
Didn't buy anything much today. I didn't really want to after my necklace splurge in Golden bay yesterday :D
So anyway. 20 seconds left, better split.
Byebyes :D xx
