Thank fucking god.
So glad to have my own bed and room and stuff back. 5 days of moderate relaxation (because I have some Classics work to catch up on, plus some History shit to do) then it's back to school. I kind of can't wait. I just hope that any shit that's gone down lately will have blown over by then, and I'll be able to chill with my buddies ;)
I'll be getting my holiday photos up on Facebook hopefully within the next two to three days, so you guys can see all the shit I got up to (be warned: quite a bit of it will be boring landscapes and seascapes).
The only stuff that happened here while we were away is that a sheep or two died from this very rare type of worm which is transferred through the soil, and which also endangered our goat and alpacas, so they had to be drenched.
Something horrible happened, too. One of the dogs, whose name was Shorty, which went through our branch of the Greyhounds As Pets programme (Google it if you want) was murdered in some place somewhere (some Maori word beginning with W which also has some Ns and an A or two in there) by means of a blow to the head with a blunt object. Auntie Cate, who was looking after the house/farm&business while we were away, told me just before but hasn't told Mum yet, because it's so horrible :( Makes me sad that some people do shit like that to animals, especially to animals as beautiful and gentle as greyhounds :(
Speaking of beautiful animals, we went to Orana Park today. It's an open zoo (the only one in NZ) which means that most of the animals aren't caged up in stupid little areas. The monkey area and the lemur area are both separated from people by a small moat. Pretty cool.
Best of all, I think, was this lioness. The males and females are separated, and she was obviously kind of missing them, because she was pacing up and down her fence, stopping (very, very still) every so often to stare at them. Horny little thing. It was a great opportunity to get a good look at her. Such huge muscles, and a beautiful coat and melty-golden eyes. I wish I had a lion. Funny, because the males kind of paled in comparison. They looked skinny and lazy and kind of listless and they stood munching on grass and stuff.
Right-o, anyway. Better go. I have half my unpacking still to go (a massive pile of souvenirs to store away) and dinner's soon so... yeah. Bye byes :)
Orana Park is awesome! We were at the playground thingie there, and I got up on the back of the turtle statue thingie, and got stuck >.<
